Gran Chaco is a dry and hot plain bordering Brazil as well as Paraguay, with whom Bolivia fought the Chaco war against in 1935. Being Bolivia’s hottest region, much of the plain is inhospitable. However, it is home to thousands of species of animals and plants, and is particularly important for the large migration of many birds.
