The Andes Mountain Range is the longest mountain chain in the world being about 4,000 miles long. The Bolivian Andes include many smaller smaller ranges, one of the more well known being Altiplano, an arid plateau which is 12,000 to 15,000 ft tall. The highest point is Sajama, a 21,000 ft tall volcano. The Andes are home to many species of wildlife, including Llamas, which carry enough importance to be on the Bolivian flag. Aside from the wildlife and natural beauty of the Andes, they isolate Bolivia and cause many developmental disadvantages.
